Marc Baez, president and CEO, is an economic development & management professional whose skills, practical guidance, and results-oriented approach have helped small businesses, municipalities, and economic development clients develop effective business and economic development solutions. He has worked in planning, community development, economic development, and as an entrepreneur, to build a 25-year history of success. Marc possesses strong analytical and problem solving skills, which he adds to all business and economic development challenges by integrating common sense strategies into complex problems.
Marc has worked in grants procurement, public facilities projects, developed a small business loan portfolio, strategic planning, shovel-ready site development/permitting, green development, cluster development, land development, and myriad ancillary practices that have worked to build a comprehensive understanding of business and municipal investment decision making.
His skills include: organizational administration; budgeting; fundraising; strategic planning; consensus building; marketing, publishing; public/private presentations; and business management consulting.
Achievements
As an economic development practitioner and chief executive officer of an economic development corporation, Marc has successfully secured over $150 million, two million square feet of space, the creation of over 1,500 jobs, and served during his organization’s most prominent period. As demand for services has outgrown the ability for the public sector and non-profits to provide them, Marc established Baez Associates to provide consulting services that assist small businesses, municipalities, and economic development organizations all with the goal of enhancing and providing more economic opportunities and long-term growth to the clients or areas they serve. Marc has recently been contracted to once again administer the offices of the Partnership for Economic Development in Sullivan County.
Community Service
Marc has served on many governing boards, including the Chamber of Commerce, Community Development Corporations, Business Review Boards, and Small Business Revolving Loan Fund Boards, and he currently serves on the board of The Greater Hudson Valley Health System and the Mid-Hudson Co-Operative Insurance Company.
Academics
Marc’s academic background is reflective of his professional growth beginning with a liberal arts degree from the Sullivan County Community College, bachelor’s degree in marketing from the State University of New York at Oswego, and certification from the University of Oklahoma based American Economic Development Council program (now International Economic Development Council). Marc has been recognized with distinguished service awards, economic development awards, and empire state commendations.
