Anthony W. Griffith is a transportation safety expert and consultant specializing in commercial vehicle driver training and safety. He has over 40 years of experience in the transportation industry, with a strong focus on transit bus, school bus, trucking and motorcoach operations.
Mr. Griffith is highly credentialed, holding numerous certifications from the U.S. Department of Transportation, Michigan State University, and the Pupil Transportation Safety Institute. He is a Certified Safety and Security Director by the World Safety Organization and a Certified Director of Training. Mr. Griffith is also a Certified New York State 19-A Examiner and Driving Instructor.
In addition to his certifications, Mr. Griffith has extensive experience in bus and motorcoach operations. He has served as a 19-A examiner for multiple school bus and motorcoach companies in New York State. He has also been a judge for the New York State Truck Driving Championships and the New York State School Bus Driving Championships. He is one of the first Master Drivers awarded by United Motorcoach Association.
Mr. Griffith has supported the research and development efforts for diesel-electric hybrid and zero-emissions battery electric buses.
Mr. Griffith was named the Transportation Safety Leader of the Year in 2015 by the United Motorcoach Association. He is a member of several industry associations, including the Bus Industry Safety Council of the American Bus Association, the United Motorcoach Association’s risk management committee, and the Transport Workers Union Local 100 to name a few. Additionally, he is a Certified Operation Secured Transport Instructor for the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration.
Mr. Griffith has an impressive commercial driver safety record, having logged over 4,500,000 preventable accident-free miles as a bus and commercial vehicle operator.
Throughout his career, Mr. Griffith has been actively involved in the transportation industry. He has participated in numerous Roadeos, competitions designed to encourage professionalism and build camaraderie among bus and commercial vehicle operators and maintenance personnel. Mr. Griffith has won and placed in over 34 Roadeos and driving competitions. He has also served as a judge for Motorcoach, trucking, and school bus competitions.
With over 25 years of experience in the corporate world, Mr. Griffith has honed a unique skill set in strategic planning, operational optimization, and financial management. As the president of a growing Sullivan County Transportation company, He is driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence and a commitment to building a workplace culture that fosters creativity, collaboration, excellence and continuous improvement. In my role with the board would be to leverage my business acumen, network of industry contacts, and entrepreneurial mindset to help drive the organization’s growth forward, assist in improving operational efficiency, and identify new revenue streams. Outside of my professional endeavors, I’m a mentor, dedicated to nurturing the next generation of business leaders and entrepreneurs.”
